Ms. Tran Thi Hoan (50 years old, living in Quang Trung village, Ky Xuan commune) said that this year's spring crop her family made 4 sao of rice and 3 sao of peanuts. The weather is warm and sunny, the crops are growing well, so her family splits the fields, small grass, fertilizes, and takes care of the crops. Asked about the current fertilizer price, Ms. Hoan shook her head and said that the price of fertilizer at this time was too high, causing farmers to spend a lot of money on agricultural production.
Ms. Hoan listed, with 1 pole of peanut cultivation, it costs about 300,000 VND to rent a land preparation machine, 30 kg of NPK fertilizer for more than 500,000 VND, 10 kg of peanut seeds for about 530 thousand VND. If the crop is good, each peanut will yield 1.5 quintals with the selling price of 2.7 million dong, minus all expenses, only take the labor to make a profit. "Last year, I bought a 25kg bag of fertilizer for only 280,000 VND/bag, now with that kind of fertilizer, the price is up to 420 thousand VND/bag. Not only the price of fertilizer has increased, but the price of some other materials has also increased quite high." Ms. Hoan said.
To reduce fertilizer costs, Ms. Hoan's family reduced the use of chemical fertilizers for crops, instead increasing the amount of manure, although it was more difficult, in return, it saved a large amount of money.
